Taking part in a flower show is a brilliant way of honing your craft and at this ever popular show (25-28 April 2024) many floristry colleges came up trumps with skill and ingenuity in the ancient Greek themed competition. There were awards aplenty but they most certainly made it an incredibly tricky task for the judges to choose their winners! We wish we could show you them all, but here is just a little taster…
Gold was awarded to Shipley College for their “Poseidon: God of Earthquakes and the Sea” exhibit in cool blues and whites with red accents (see design above). In fact, this was the only Gold award of the show and they also clinched a well deserved Best in Show for their creation.
A Silver medal was awarded to Bishop Burton College and their enchanting “Medusa” head (see below).
While a Bronze medal went to Northumberland College for their mythical swan design (see below).
We are sure all the competitors enjoyed themselves immensely creating their masterpieces and the visiting public simply couldn’t get enough of them!
Our grateful thanks go to the UK Floristry Judges Guild for providing us with these images.
